In honor of National Women's History Month, I will be following the blogging prompts from The Accidental Genealogist blog. The prompts are interesting and I need to post something so I am following along again. Here is Day 2
March 2 — Post a photo of one of your female ancestors. Who is in the photo? When was it taken? Why did you select this photo?
This is a photo of my mother's Aunt Martha. Martha Hoover Solomon was my grandfather's sister.
I am not sure what year the photo was taken. She died on Halloween Day in 1959. So probably in the 1950's.
My reason for choosing this picture is that it was a picture I just received this week. My mom's cousin's son sent it to me. Aunt Martha raised him. His mother died from tuberculosis when he was eight months old. He loved her so much, she was a great mother to him. He is a retired minister.
