My cousin Tommy died when I was a Freshman in High School. I have been to the Vietnam Wall a few times to see his name and make etchings. The Wall is such a solemn place.
The purpose of my blog is to record my family history and genealogy on my mother's side of the family. The surnames include Hoover, Pickett (Piggott), Eccles, Huddleston, Manis (Maness), Gipson, (Gibson) Gifford, Lawson, Fish, and and other in my family tree. I will continue my genealogy research as I try to help others with their genealogy. I don't guarantee that all my genealogical conclusions are correct, they are a work in progress.

So sad. I like how you did the etching on the pamphlet from the memorial, that's unique.
ReplyDeleteThat night when we went to the memorial my son was in eighth grade and we were with his class. We only had a few minutes to be there and I wanted him to etch the name. I think it is an important experience. I think that was all we had. I love scrapbooking so I had to have something to put in my book.
DeleteI think I was drawn to it because we collect those pamphlets from all the national parks we go to, so they have a special meaning to us. That made your scrapbook page even more special to me.
DeleteWe have a collection of those too. I have so much scrapbooking to catch up on. My genealogy and blogging has taken quite a bit of my time lately though
